Jr’s Painting was founded in 1995 by Cornelio Perez Jr., a man driven to deliver high-quality paint jobs and create lasting relationships with his clients. After working for a painting company that frequently cut corners, JR (“Junior”) decided to take a bold step. Frustrated by the lack of quality in the industry—where cheap materials and poor workmanship were all too common—he started his own company. His mission was simple: to bring integrity, transparency, and exceptional craftsmanship to every project. This commitment to excellence has helped Jr’s Painting build “A Reputation Built By References.”

Starting a business was not without its challenges. JR faced the hurdle of learning English, making communicating effectively in a new language challenging. Additionally, his lack of experience with computers posed another obstacle. However, with the support of his wife, Edith, who was fluent in English and adept at business management, they formed a dynamic duo. JR handled the fieldwork, ensuring every paint job met his exacting standards, while Edith managed the business and finances, laying the foundation for the company’s success.

The 2008 recession was a turning point for Jr’s Painting. With work drying up, JR and Edith turned to grassroots marketing, handing out flyers door to door. Their perseverance paid off when an old client, who owned multiple Taco Bell franchises, reconnected with them. This opportunity revived their business and motivated them to obtain a business license, setting the stage for continued growth in residential and commercial painting.

For many years, JR ran the company using traditional methods—pen, paper, and cell phone—managing just enough work to keep one crew busy. But in 2021, with the arrival of his son Adrian, Jr’s Painting began to modernize. Adrian brought a new perspective, introducing digital tools to streamline operations, keep accurate project records, and expand the company’s presence online. Today, while our mission to deliver high-quality paint jobs remains unchanged, we’ve embraced new technologies and advanced products to serve our clients better than ever.

As we look to the future, we see Jr’s Painting continuing to grow and evolve. In the next 5 to 10 years, we aim to double or even triple in size, competing with the larger painting companies in Arizona while maintaining our superior quality of service. We envision operating from a dedicated office and warehouse space, expanding our reach to new markets and possibly other states. By staying at the forefront of industry innovations, we will continue to offer our clients the best products and services.

We believe in giving back to the community that has supported us for many years. Jr’s Painting has provided free repaints for homeowners in need, particularly the elderly or those facing financial difficulties. We also participate in the Adopt-a-Street program in Phoenix, with regular cleanups to help keep our city beautiful.
